TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION, 2001-2002

Talent Search Examinations are conducted to identify the most talented students in the State as well as in the Country and honour them by awarding prizes at the State Level and Covetous/prestigious scholarships at the National level.

1. STATE LEVEL EXAMINATION

Under the scheme, the search is made by conducting the following examinations by the Science Unit, Education directorate (S), Government of Manipur, Lamphelpat.

1.1 State Talent Search Examination (STSE) for Class IX

1.1.1 STSE (preparatory test for NTSE)

This test is conducted by the Science Unit, Education Directorate (S) for students reading in class IX, as preparatory step.

1.1.2 Eligibility: Any regular student of a recognised school securing not less than 50 % mark in aggregate of the total marks obtained ikn class VIII annual examination conducted in the previous year will be eligible in the said examination.

1.1.3 Syllabus: There is no prescribed syllabus for the examination. However, the course of studies prescribed up to the level of class IX of CBSE and Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM) may be followed.

1.2 STSE (Screening test for NTSE)

This test is conducted by the Science Unit, Education Directorate (S) for students reading in class X for selection of best 25 (twenty five) students of Manipur State.

1.2.1 Eligibility: Any regular students of a recognised school securing not less than 50% of marks in aggregate of total marks obtained in class IX annual examination conducted in the previous year will be eligible to appear in the said examination.

1.2.2 Syllabus: There is no prescribed syllabus for the examination. However, the course of studies prescribed up to the level of class IX of CBSE and BSEM may be followed.
